Mission
Rock Impact Capital is a New York based corporation that makes debt and equity investments in early stage social enterprises and sustainable businesses primarily located in Africa. Rock Impact Capital also provides its portfolio companies with post-investment support with a focus on capital raising, business planning, financial forecasting, capacity building and network development. The company supports market based solutions that solve social problems and create economic opportunity for low-income people.
Founder
Tony Rock is a mission and community-oriented entrepreneur and social impact investor. His 30 year business career includes senior-level positions with global financial institutions including France based Credit Industriel et Commercial and Japan based Mitsubishi Trust. As a financial services executive and leveraged credit portfolio manager, he successfully lead investment teams and allocated over $5.0 billion in capital. Tony founded Rock Impact Capital in 2017 and currently serves as President. He is also the Co-founder of Enlightenment Wines, a Brooklyn, New York based farm winery, where he serves as Chief Financial Officer. Tony is an active member of Social Venture Circle, the world’s largest early-stage impact investing network. He is also Board Chair of Prosperity Catalyst, a Cambridge, Massachusetts based not-for-profit whose mission is to economically empower women in distressed regions (currently Iraq and Haiti). Tony received an MBA from Columbia University and a BA in History from Hamilton College. He also studied at Kings College, University of London and the University of Oxford where he completed the Impact Business Leaders program.
